From Brainstorm to Garage Bliss: My First Real Experience with Gator Magnetics

When you're one of the founders of a company, you think you understand your product inside and out. And for the longest time, I thought I did.

I’d spent months working on Gator Magnetics…studying the specs, running tests, perfecting the performance, and proudly touting our innovation to anyone who’d listen. I knew, intellectually, just how strong and flexible our magnetic hooks and baskets were.

But knowing something intellectually is not the same as knowing experientially. Experiencing it firsthand.

That’s when everything changed

I remember hanging up a heavy shovel with one of our Gator hooks and then deciding it made more sense to scoot it over just an inch to fit my rakes better and to make room for a lawn chair.

So, I moved the hook with one hand and rearranged it where I wanted it.

It was at that moment that I truly felt it. Not as a founder, but as a user.

And funny enough, I’m not alone

Talking with Cole, our Director of Sales, today, he basically told me the same thing. He’s used Gators here and there for demos, events, and displays—thousands of times, in fact. But yesterday, he decided to tackle his own backyard shed, which he admitted was a total mess, while filming content for our Instagram page.
